Sustainable Operation

Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan CJSC strives to conduct its banking activities with due care and sensitivity toward the environment and society. In this context, the United Nations Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals constitute the overall framework for the Bank’s environmental initiatives.

The Bank aims to minimize the possible and potential negative impact on the environment arising from its activities, to continuously improve environmental protection projects and social initiatives, to establish effective engagement with stakeholders on these matters, and to provide regular reporting.

Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan carries out activities aimed at improving its environmental and social performance, based on the innovative approach and policies of the Koç Holding Group, which is the Bank’s main shareholder.

In order to develop the Bank’s sustainability strategy and policies in the economic, social, and environmental spheres, integrate these strategies and policies into the Bank’s operations, and monitor sustainability performance indicators, a Sustainability Committee has been established. The Committee meets once every three months throughout the year. During the Committee meetings, the measures implemented in the areas of sustainable activities and environmental protection are reviewed, possible future initiatives are discussed, and relevant decisions are adopted.
